The Trinidad and Tobago Securities and Exchange Commission (TTSEC) was created in 1997 under the Securities Industry Act 1995 (SIA 1995). This Act would later be updated in 2012 and is now SIA 2012. TTSEC also known as "the Commission" and was established to ensure investment transactions were carried out fairly and without improper or fraudulent practices. The commission also monitor to ensure fairness in the securities market and industry on behalf of Trinidad and Tobago.
