The Water and Sewerage Authority is responsible for the water and sewerage systems throughout Trinidad and Tobago. Some of their main responsibilities are:

- maintaining the current pipeline infrastructure throughout the country.
- updating the pipeline infrastructure in the country.
- developing new pipeline infrastructure throughout the country.
- updating and maintaining sewer systems.
- managing and maintaining water treatment plants in the country
- managing and maintaining water wells throughout the country.
- the development and implementation of water and sewer services throughout the country.
